SECTION 5 - VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
HAIR ETC. STUDIO operates video surveillance cameras for security and safety purposes only. Cameras are located in:
• Reception and waiting areas
• Retail product displays
• Entry and exit points
• Common walkways and corridors

Cameras are NOT located in:
• Individual styling stations or service areas
• Restrooms or changing facilities
• Private consultation rooms
• Staff break rooms

SURVEILLANCE PRACTICES
• Footage is recorded continuously during business hours
• Recordings are stored securely with restricted access
• Only authorized management personnel may view footage
• Footage may be shared with law enforcement if required for security incidents
• Automatic deletion occurs after 30-90 days unless needed for ongoing investigations
• Footage is NEVER used for marketing, training, or any non-security purpose

By entering our salon premises, you consent to video surveillance in accordance with applicable privacy laws and this notice.

SECTION 6 - SMS & COMMUNICATION PREFERENCES

APPOINTMENT COMMUNICATIONS
We will send you SMS (text message) and/or email for:
• Appointment confirmations immediately after booking
• Appointment reminders 24-48 hours before your scheduled time
• Notifications of schedule changes or cancellations initiated by the salon

These transactional messages are essential to providing salon services and cannot be opted out of while you maintain active appointments.

We retain your salon information for the following periods:

ACTIVE CLIENT RECORDS
• Retained while you remain an active client (defined as having an appointment within the past 24 months)
• Retained for 3 years after your last appointment to accommodate future bookings

APPOINTMENT HISTORY
• Retained for 7 years for business records, accounting, and compliance purposes

SERVICE RECORDS
• Hair history and treatment records: Retained for 5 years after last service
• Color formulations and technical notes: Retained for 5 years after last service
• Health and safety information: Retained for 7 years in accordance with health regulations

MARKETING MATERIALS
• Photos/videos (with consent): Retained until you withdraw consent
• Portfolio images: Retained indefinitely unless you request removal

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE
• Security footage: Retained for 30-90 days before automatic deletion
• Footage related to incidents: Retained as long as necessary for investigation and legal purposes

After these retention periods, personal information is securely deleted or anonymized unless we are required to retain it longer by law. You may request early deletion of your information by contacting us, subject to legal and business requirements.

SECTION 8 - SHARING YOUR SALON INFORMATION

We do NOT sell your personal information. We may share your salon information only in the following limited circumstances:

PATCH TESTS
We recommend patch tests before chemical services such as:

• Permanent wave services

While patch tests significantly reduce the risk of allergic reactions, they do not eliminate the risk entirely. By proceeding with services, you acknowledge that you understand this risk.

SECTION 11 - INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

HAIR ETC. STUDIO is located in Nicosia, Cyprus, and is subject to Cypriot and European Union data protection laws. Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) in the following circumstances:


• Our appointment booking system provider (Fresha) may store data on servers located outside the EEA
• Our website host (Shopify) operates globally and may process data in multiple countries
• Our payment processors may route transactions through international networks
• Our cloud storage providers may maintain backup servers in multiple jurisdictions
